Richard Digance's first musical collaboration was And As Winter Faded, a joint production with David Cain of The BBC Radiophonic Workshop who produced BBC serialisations of Tolkien's The Hobbit and War Of The Worlds.

Richard went on to provide musical compositions for three Independent Radio Award winning documentaries Down To Earth, Can Buy Me Love and Dying For A Drink, through musical contributions for Ralph Bernard CBE, plus The BBC production Rowland's Over The Hill, the musical story of Sir Rowland Hill who created the penny post for The Royal Mail in 1840.

Richard has also composed audiobook music for best-selling author, Bill Bryson, plus TV soundtrack music for London Weekend Television, Carlton Television, Tenents Lager, Lux Soap, Happy Eater and KP Nuts, plus radio titles music for Capital Radio, London where he worked for five years as a presenter and producer.

He qualified as a radio producer at Elstree Radio School.

The Musical Audiobook has taken four years to reach fruition, beginning life in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown. Richard Digance, like everyone else, spent two years at home and spent the time in his digital recording studio in Salisbury, Wiltshire, researching, writing narrations and composing the songs and incidental music. All songs within the catalogue of titles are written by Richard.  When lockdown ended Richard was able to add additional vocalists and musicians to complete the audiobooks. It was a pure labour of love that blended Richard's two passions, music and history.
